Back from Ireland

I spent the final four days of our trip to Ireland/Scotland in bed. Sadly, my bod was decimated by some sort of chest bug that spread all over. At one point, I had a fever of 103 degrees. At that heat, it's tought to get comfortable in any position. I didn't until Shandelle found some weird cough medicine there that calmed things down a bit and I could finally sleep.

We arrived back in SA and I've been fighting the bug really since then. Travelling seems to be so stressful on me. I get crammed into cars, breathe recycled air, stuffed into tiny airline seats, eat strange food with new microbes, etc.

But, I'm back breathing warm texas air and getting ready to move into our new home. So, recovery is well on the way!

Greetings From Scotland and Ireland

Shandelle and I are now in Scotland and Ireland for a much-needed vacation. It's been a great week+ so far, and I'm looking forward to finishing things off on a nice note as we fly out Sunday.

Things have been great over here. Hunter's wedding was perhaps the most entertaining wedding I've attended in a long time with funniest cast of characters. They were married in a 100+ year old church in a town in the mountains south of Dublin. It's the site of a monastery city that dated back to the 6th century AD. That kind of age just doesn't happen in Texas.

We're currently in Edinburg, Scotland, UK. I was originally very skeptical as to the point of flying over here (why not just stay in Ireland the whole time?), but have been won over. The flight itself from Dublin was only like $50 roundtrip on RyanAir. And, apart from the exorbitantly expensive accomodation rates, I've been happy with everything. The two itself is almost all stone and the castle in the center is fantastic. The Scots are also putting on the Festival, which happens all month and has shows out the wazoo. Terrific.
